An Incomplete List of Sites Blocked in China
So now you’re ready: bags packed, plane tickets booked, visa arrived, courses confirmed, internship settled, what’s next?
Well, unfortunately, some of your favorite websites might not make their way to your screens in China, and we are sorry to be the one who breaks this piece of news for you. The Internet restrictions in China is something we can do nothing about sadly, it’s a decision on a governmental level: you either live with it, or you find a way to go around it, meaning buying a VPN service that’s usable in China.
If you decide to buy a VPN service, it is preferable to make the purchase before you come to China, because most of the websites of VPN vendors are already blocked by the Great Firewall, you will not be able to access them in China, and you’ll find yourself in a helpless loop once you’re here without a VPN on your device.
If you decide to live with the restriction (you probably will be fine, as you are not going to stay for a very long time in China for your internship trip), the here below, we have an incomplete list of websites that are currently blocked or semi-blocked in China. Use the “Find” function on your device (whatever the button is called!) to quickly find out if your frequently visited sites are blocked or not. Good luck!
